Netherlands will celebrate the ascension of King Willem-Alexander throne today, because Queen Beatrix decides to resign as a queen. Monarchy transition was seen to be a very historic because for a century ago, Dutch always led by a queen.

The event was held at 10:00 am local time in Amsterdam Field. Queen Beatrix who had been in power for 33 years it will hand over her power to his son.

Beatrix and Willem-Alexander will appear and speech on the Netherlands Palace balcony, after the Beatrix signed a waiver for the transition rule. According to official reports from the City of Amsterdam, approximately 800 thousand guests attended the coronation of King Willem-Alexander.

On Monday evening, Queen Beatrix congratulated the citizens of the Netherlands on television. Beatrix also asked all citizens to support his eldest son who is currently the head of the Dutch state.

"Right now, my eldest son will take over this responsibility and work, my deepest hope is that this royal couple received support in the form of love and trust from all of you," said Queen Beatrix, as quoted by Fox News, Tuesday (04/30/2013 ).

"I'm sure, Willem-Alexander will serve nicely fitting a king," she added.

On the same occasion, Queen Beatrix services offending her ex-husband Prince Claus, who died in 2002. The 75-year-old monarch praised the Prince Claus education to their children about issues related community.

Queen Beatrix also held a dinner reception at the National Museum Rijksmuseum. Some Beatrix guests include Prince Charles and his wife.

Queen Beatrix announced plans to hand over power on January 29. Prime Minister Mark Rutte also reported that Crown Prince Willem-Alexander is ready to take on the task of the queen.

As is known, Willem-Alexander will be the first king of Dutch after 123 years. In 1890 the reign of King William III falls on Queen Wilhelmina, and in 1948, power passed only daughter of Queen Wilhelmina, Queen Juliana.

Queen Juliana of power was passed on by his eldest daughter, Queen Beatrix on 30 April 1980. And today, the power of the head of the official Dutch state held a king.
