First Batik Train in Indonesia and in the World

Indonesian Record Museum (MURI), at Bandung Railway Station, set a new record in the form of a railroad train with batik theme.
MURI manager Jusuf Nadri, after the recording of the record, said the train batik is the 4742 record of MURI.

Record of the batik train can also be a world record because until now there is no train decorated with batik.
"I think the record of trains berlukiskan batik is a world record. But clearly on a national scale this is the first record, "said Jusuf.

Meanwhile, the Commercial Director of PT Indonesia's Railways Wimbo Hardjito states, this effort is part of the company's program to preserve batik as one of the world heritage.
"The most important is to promote batik as one of the world heritage of Indonesia to the entire community," he said.

He said conservation measures related companies batik is not only to stop the implementation of batik motifs on a railway carriage alone.
However, the future of batik will also adorn the interior and exterior rail assets in Indonesia.

Batik painting on a railway carriage was designed by five artists graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD) Institut Teknologi Bandung plus ten auxiliary personnel.
Batik motifs painted on the wagon train is a combination of Cirebon batik and Pekalongan batik.
