MU tied Moyes with a contract duration of six years. Moyes selected based on direct recommendation from Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton.
Moyes said very proud to have been chosen to be the successor to a big figure like Sir Alex. But he also knew that he was expected to be very big.
"It is a great honor to have been asked to be a coach of Manchester United. I'm more excited because I think Sir Alex has the ability and provide recommendations. Sir Alex was someone who I respect."
"I know for a fact that it will be very difficult to follow the footsteps of the greatest coaches of all time. Yet the opportunity to train United did not come all the time and I feel ready to undergo the task of the next season."
