Microsoft Chief Marketing Officer, Tami Reller announced that Windows 8 will update with code named "Windows Blue" or "Windows 8.1". Reportedly, the operating system update is free to be downloaded by users of Windows 8.

Reported by GamesIndustry, Wednesday (05/15/2013), this update fixes some display feature of Windows 8, including presenting the solution to the 'Start' button missing.

"Windows Blue Update is an opportunity for us to see the response from our users of Windows 8 so far," said Reller in the JP Morgan Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.

"In addition, Windows Blue is also part of our efforts to advance Microsoft's devices and services," he added.

Preview of Windows 8.1 or Windows Blue will be available to public from June 26 to coincide with Microsoft's Build Developer Conference. This U.S. company also revealed that the preview are available in Windows 8 and Windows RT.
